A majority of Californias Fuel Cell Electric Vehicles are Mirai Cars from Toyota. In this video we visit the Port of Long Beach and check out the Toyota hydrogen truck and hear about the plans for a Tri Gen – Tripple Generation Facility to produce 1,2 ton renewable hydrogen a day.

Developed in collaboration with Toyota Motor North America, 10 zero-emission Kenworth T680s powered by Toyota hydrogen fuel cell electric powertrains will transport cargo across the Los Angeles basin to inland cities.

Last Thursday I climbed into this truck at Toyota’s Arizona Proving Grounds. Power comes from two Mirai fuel stacks salvaged from Mirai development vehicles. Electricity from the stacks is fed to two big electric motors is series. If this is the future, sign me up.
